The love of my life

I am such a lucky woman to have a wonderful fiance like mine, I really am. He is in no way perfect, but I love him so much, that it does not matter.

We met through work.

His security company was taken over by my security company - and he started up the Calgary office. He was responsible for scheduling the technicians in Calgary for service. I was already working in the Installations department in Edmonton, which involved scheduling all the technicians across the country to install new/updated systems. I think we talked to one another on the phone almost everyday, at least once.

So we were co-workers, and work friends. Then in December of 2007 he came up to Edmonton (just as he had in 2005 and 2006), for our annual Holiday Gala. Something was different. Maybe it was the weight I had lost. Maybe it was the festive season. We kept ending up talking to one another that night, and even danced once (I fell on my ass trying to "get low", and his watch got caught in my shirt as he caressed my body).

Everything changed after that. We started sending numerous flirty texts and emails to one another everyday. Then at the end of February he was coming up to Edmonton for training, and he asked me out for drinks.

It was a great night. We had a couple of drinks, we shared fries with ketchup (which I insisted on calling vegetables since it was potatoes and tomatoes), and then I kissed him as we were walking back to my car. I drove him back to his hotel and went up to his room, just to "talk". Well let's just say that I didn't leave until about 5:30am the next morning.

The next day at work I was on the early shift at 7:00am - and I was extremely tired after not really getting any sleep the night before. All I really remember is trying to find just a few minutes alone with him before he had to leave. He kissed me by the elevator and told me that this was not a one night stand - and it wasn't.

That was the start of us.
